How do I Copyright Software?

The U.S. Copyright Office defines computer programs as “a set of statements or instructions to be used directly or indirectly in a computer in order to bring about a certain result.”

The process for registering a Copyright for your computer program roughly the same as it is for other works. When you are submitting a deposit, the first and last twenty-five (25) pages of the program are required for submission with the application.
